9-2-2011 NHL All-Star Skill Competitions
The annual All-Star event kicked off today with the skill competitions. Team North America and Team World competed in six different races and the fans got to see their stars shine.
Team North America won the puck control relay with a team of Mike Green, Duncan Keith and Sidney Crosby.
Alexander Ovechkin of Team World won the fastest skater competition, beating Tyler Myers in the final.
Jason Arnott of Team North America won the hardest shot competition with a result of 89 MPH, beating Ilya Kovalchuk in the final.
Evgeni Malkin of Team World won the accuracy shooting competition, beating Joe Thornton in the final.
Steve Mason of Team North America won the goalie competition (pass&score), beating Henrik Lundqvist in the final.
Team North America won the breakaway relay with a team of Mike Green, Jarome Iginla and Dany Heatley.
The yearly clash between Team North America and Team World will take place tomorrow.
